I have to admit I am a huge fan of givenchy color cosmetics. The new ROUGE INTERDIT VINYL lip sticks promise to create the effect of lacquered lips while intensifying your natural lip color or the one you might have on underneath. So the big question that crossed my mind is that are lip vinyls going to be the next new thing or is this another recycled /repackaged makeup concept, case in point - strobing which to me is exactly highlighting though beauty junkies might beg to differ! I am about to find out as I try out these stunningly packaged lip vinyls...
Givenchy HQ releases this statement - "GIVENCHY HAS CREATED A LIPSTICK FOR WOMEN IN THE KNOW, A ONE-OF-A-KIND ACCESSORY RESERVED FOR THE WELL-INFORMED. ITS NAME? ROUGE INTERDIT VINYL."
'Layering' has been a trend in fashion since many many centuries with chemise, drawers, petticoat, corsets with boning and bustles, crinolines and bust-improvers which have now been replaced with push-up bras and body-suits and tights and the many fashionable outer layers that help an individual express their personal style.
Layering is also a trend in perfumes, where one layers complimentary olfactive profiles to achieve a unique signature blend while accentuating all the precious ingredients.
This product takes layering trend to the one area that has not yet seen it - lips.
This unique product that sits in a category of its own is shaped like a conventional lip stick but comes encased in a shiny metallic-lucite case, with a satin ribbon attached at its end to that’s inspired by the House’s fashion designs.
"A vinyl finish for lips with exceptional shine and vibrant color."
This lipstick is an amazing stretch formula for lips that creates tantalizing curves as it glides like a film onto the lips.
Described as 'Mysterious and enigmatic', precious black rose oil provides long stay comfort and provides lip balm-like suppleness, which is hard to find in most lipsticks.
The quality of this formulation is brilliant. It is medium hued though upon immediate application one can feel the colour starts to intensify with the body heat, and if applied on top of a lipstick it creates a unique lacquered finish. Active rose oil is infused to give that extreme moisture surge and is combined with silicone resin, so that it forms a shiny, thin, and supple film on the lips’ surface for a second-skin feel. Lips are left with a vinyl-like radiance and a filling effect that makes them appear instantly fuller, smoother, and denser. Each high-shine colour blurs away all the lips’ tiniest imperfections and reflects the light.
Comes in 12 shades ranging from soft rosy hues to orange tinted corals, to slightly more intense rouges, a mocha shade, blush shades with mauve undertones and finally a noir that lends a deep grape hue thats perfect for skins with cool undertones.
My verdict is that I am on-board the lip vinyl train! Love the intense yet natural colour and feel on my lips as the moisturising effect is able to put any good lip balm to shame. I say its a must-try if your lips need that just-bitten naturally flushed look.
