A perfect sunny day after weeks of dry chill and no sunshine, as you soak the warmth of the sun while your body basks in this much needed respite from this unforgiving winter....
Top notes are bergamot and Amalfi lemon; middle notes are jasmine, rose and white flowers; base notes are woodsy notes and musk.
This fragrance is an interesting one, a composition that I find complex and layered, with a progression from cool citrus to warm spicy to aromatic woody.
Kurkdjian, made famous at only 26 for designing one of the world's best selling fragrances for Jean Paul Gaultier, boasts of an illustrious career that includes many best sellers and scents that gained worldwide acclaim. His versatility and ability to lend his signature flair while churning out trend-setting as well as timeless creations is what makes him one of the finest parfumeurs today.
Aqua Universalis is an invigorating and revitalising scent and Universalis forte is higher concentration with as much as 40% making it almost of an extrait. The composition with a few minor adjustments remains refreshing with bergamot, lemon and orange making a bold first appearance. The fragrance progresses to a fresh floral heart which smells more aromatic than floral at least on my skin. I pick up a slightly metallic rose and spiky narcotic jasmine. The fragrance upon drying down exhibits warmth and spiciness however the woods are very soft.
I get the sense of cool and warmth much like a bright perfectly sunny day in the middle of cold grey winters.
The projection on this scent is not as good as its sillage and longevity, and i find it more masculine inclined than feminine.
Wear it on a trip to the riviera, wear it on a yatch, as the cool water and bright sun heal your body and soul.
The temperatures have been soaring high last couple of weeks, with mercury touching 45 degrees, with harsh dry sun and conditions that forced me to stay indoors. This is bound to take a toll on our skin, and what we need are no-fuss simple cleansers and wake-me-up products to give back dear life to our delicate skin.
This pretty mess is everything I need and heres what I have sworn by these last couple of weeks -

A man with a brooding face pens down memories of battles and triumphs of the past. His frame, now frail shows hints of a persona that might have once been imposing with strength, honour and courage. The fire in his eyes still burns bright as he revisits vivid moments of his life which were once filled with toils as well as glory.
Finest blackcurrant, Italian bergamot, French apples and a burst of royal pineapple; Exquisite roses with a complement of dry birch, Moroccan jasmine plus a hint of patchouli; Musk with a touch of oak moss for depth, then ambergris and a dab of vanilla.
Perhaps the most celebrated fragrances from the House of Creed, the fragrance evokes such timelessness that goes back centuries, something that is hard for most modern day scents to achieve. There is history and heritage here which is so refined as well as honest that it begs to be revered by its contemporaries. The style of Aventus is one of a modern day cologne complete with a vibrant opening notes of bergamot and black currant, green apples and a burst of royal pineapple, freshest roses dried by birch, made sweet and earthy by patchouli in the heart, while musk and ambergris linger with a dark and deep oak moss in its base.
Aventus is royal but not imposing. The product is the partnership between Olivier Creed and his son Erwin, seventh generation of Creed and its future chief, imagined as a worldly blend which must-have for the individual who savour a life well-lived. And that it truly is, as it soon became one of the most iconic signature scents in many a perfume wardrobes around the world.
The silver emblem of horse and rider fittingly evokes unbounded adventure and spirit.
A versatile summer-winter scent which may be worn all day and night. Make it your signature scent.
"An invisible being, entering human life to add "undefined joyful aspects, and create moments gray becomes mediteranean blue, and black turns into light by something science has yet to discover..." as described by Perfumer Paul Vacher
Le Galion Perfume House was originally in a mansion house in Paris, and from the depths of this remarkable laboratory emerged many timeless creations that have defined the brand's unique legacy.
It was in this peaceful and elegant atmosphere that the formulas and products were developed and the fragrances packaged. It was a unique place where one was able to smell “rare and exotic” aromas filling the air.
Originally launched in 1930 by Prince Murat, the house was bought by talented perfumer Paul Vacher in 1935. He thought it was time to branch out on his own, after creating and working with several illustrious brands in the past. In 1936, his perfume Sortilège became an immediate success and remains one of the jewels of the house.

This Aldehydic-Floral scent exemplifies classic french perfumery and its know how.
In the late 1930s, he followed up with Bourrasque, Brumes and the beautiful floral fragrances Iris and Tubéreuse. All of his fragrances were produced from the finest, natural, and raw ingredients.
But this once glorious perfume house, Le Galion, has faded from our memory and consigned to the past however more than 30 years later, like the phoenix, Le Galion Perfume House is reborn from the ashes. Back are the original, exceptional, fiery and subtle fragrances - rare luxury and refined creations.
