Panoramic Tuscany landscape that meets the distant horizon, nature sets stage with vivid hues under the mediterranean sun that shines clear and bright...citrus fruits ripen into an effervescent fresh nectar...
Cypress, Sicilian Lemon, Grapefruit, Citron, Mandarin Orange, Aldehydes, Ylang Ylang
My husband describes it like it is..."minimal yet complex"
It is an outstanding citrus scent that truly captures the essence of everything a signature scent stands for. " As a second generation fragrance industry person, I have the opportunity to smell and source a variety of high quality rare ingredients from all over the world....so when a scent thats enriched with the highest quality materials blended to an invigorating, energising potion...it just smells like perfection!" says Subir.
Sicilian lemon, mandarin and lime radiate in the top notes while cypress adds a fresh spiky facet. There is a bitterness perhaps from blood orange or bergamot which work well to accentuate the freshness. The sweetness in this scent is slightly resinous as Subir describes it, and appears just towards the dry down. The narcotic, banana toned Ylang-ylang makes a beautiful cameo in this scent, and oh how perfectly it rounds off this timeless sharp fragrance.
"Without a doubt, it is going to be my signature day scent, on vacation, or at work...it just works everywhere!" says Subir.
A versatile scent that becomes a part of your personality and plays it up, may be worn at night or during the day, while traveling, on a yacht or on the beach, at a party or at work....
For those of you who haven't yet heard about this gem heres a few basic vital things to know....The patented Clarisonic Sonic Cleansing Brush uses a sonic frequency of more than 300 movements per second to deeply cleanse the skin far more effectively, yet gently, than traditional superficial cleansing or simple rotating brushes, that may typically lead further breakout or flaring up of the sensitive facial skin.
I had been seeing this pop up on several of my favourite beauty blogs on youtube, with each one swearing by how its helped their sensitive skin, and the minute I hear of a miracle devise that provides relief to easily troubled skin type, sign me up!
Clarisonic Mia 2 comes in a box as seen in the image below.
I chose Mia 2 because it is lightweight, compact and came equipped with a travel case, which seemed perfect in my case. Also, considering its my first investment in the Clarisonic range, I wanted something that was not completely basic and neither was it the most top of the line.
The Unboxing as seen above reveals the following parts of the Clarisonic Mia 2
1. Hardbound paper box with descriptions and info graphics as well as support text to clearly explain the product encased.
2. A protective casing made of plastic perfect for travel or when I am on the go.
3. The Clarisonic devise with an interchangeable brush head and a cover for the brush head.
4. Clarisonic Mia2 universal voltage charger that magnetically attaches to the Mia and Mia2 handle. This is a rechargeable adapter and the devise requires a recharging after 10 uses or so. The charger is compatible with 100-240 Volts AC; 50/60 Hz, allowing it to be used worldwide with the appropriate country adapter.
5. The Clarisonic gel cleanser in a 30ml tube, though I use my favourite Vichy Normaderm face cleanser.
Features and Form
Mia 2 is one helluva hand held cleansing devise possibly the only one of its kind on the market. Heres a few reasons why I LOVE IT!
I love its perfectly designed ergonomic shape that feels just the right weight in my hands, the weight is perfectly balanced such that it does not tip over on one side, or feels imbalanced while using.
The shape rests well in the arch of myhand and the one minute of cleansing is a breeze....
Will I try more products from the Clarisonic family?
What am i most interested to try next....?
The SMART PROFILE with the body brush attachment for the body!!
The legend surrounding King Nebuchadnezzar II of ancient Babylon was the inspiration behind this spicy, woody creation. He was a king of the Neo-Babylonian Empire, who reigned c. 605 BC – 562 BC, and is credited for building the Hanging Gardens of Babylon.
Possibly built in 600 BC, the gardens are believed to have been a remarkable feat of engineering: an ascending series of tiered gardens containing all manner of trees, shrubs, and vines. The gardens were said to have looked like a large green mountain constructed of mud bricks.
Legend has it that Nebudchanezzar, sensitive to the signs of the universe during the vernal equinox, closed his eyes and opened his mind, strangely aware of an echo reverberating in the haze of his dreams. The cosmos revealed to him that he would be the architect of a project to be experienced by future generations. In the shimmering depths of his mind, Nebudchanezzar envisioned the plans for a creation to be undertaken by three of his worthy companions. This was how, in 570 BCE, the sumptuous Hanging Gardens of Babylon came into being. The King composes from them Parfums Fins - the botanical culmination of his architectural work.
Top Note: Bergamot, Grapefruit, Frankincense, Rosemary; Heart Note: Carnation, Nutmeg, Cinnamon, Rose, Myrrh; Base Note: Vetiver, Lignum Vitae, Balmy Notes, Ambergris
This powerful extrait delivers a rare intoxicating experience that is transcendent and rich. Heavy with the purest aromas originating from rare ingredients, Nabucco parfum fin is a collector's dream. Nabucco scents are described to be an artistic revelation, ones that are meant to be experienced through mind, body and soul. My personal encounter immediately drew me to the hard geometry of the glorious flacon and an interesting juxtaposition of something severe with something delicate. The severity of the bold and heavy chrome rendered glass body and the softness of a spherical cavity that encases the delicate gold juice inside come together to form the most unique visual experience.
As I began to smear only a drop of the 'potion' on my unscented wrist i could already smell a sharp citrus opening created by bergamot, grapefruit thats made more aromatic by the frankincense (olibanum). Rosemary provides a dry spiky effect, and leads the way to a fragrant floral heart thats soft and spicy. Rose and carnation are fresh and are accentuated by the myrrh creating an incense feel in the heart. The fragrance boasts of longevity for days, as experienced by me on my own skin. And remains strong and consistent with heavy balsamic accords from resin and amber that create a rich sweetness.
Nabucco projects very well and simply radiates off of the skin....it displays all qualities of the perfect signature scent. Though the price point may refrain you from using this too frequently.
In cooler weathers, and on a long night to a large event....as this one is strong, rich and lasts really long.

A beautiful scent is like a beautiful memory: it transports us to another place in time"
Image shot by Tender Loving Nose at Luxe House Middle East, Dubai
"A scent is a time capsule. It can invoke our most intimate memories and dreams, and open doors to distant worlds. Curated by an architect specializing in Historic Preservation, Arquiste is a fragrance collection that transports the wearer to evocative moments in history"
These words could not be more true, as aromas in nature or otherwise stimulate our smell receptors, engage our senses and trigger our associations in terms of a memory or feelings experienced while taking in that particular aroma.
Scent experience is a powerful one as it not only produces physical manifestations but also mental and emotional.
The brand Arquiste was founded by its creator Carlos Huber who is an architect specializing in Historic Preservation, and he based it on the philosophy each fragrance restores the olfactive experience of a particular time and place, allowing both women and men to unlock personal revelations and experience history in a most intimate way. He was drawn to the magical skyline of his hometown of Mexico City — a mix of Aztec, Spanish Colonial, Beaux Arts and Modern structures. Carlos Huber first pursued the study of architecture at prestigious universities there and in Paris. A move to Spain awakened his love for the aromatic environments of the Mediterranean, and strengthened his interest in architectural history. This led him to New York City, where he graduated with honours in Historic Preservation atColumbia University.
Huber studied fragrance development and collaborated with internationally recognized noses in order to recapture the olfactive notes of historical moments. His beautiful and complex creations honor history and embrace modernity. As he says, “They transport us to another place in time”, and with that he turned his long time love for the world of perfumery into a brand that is all encompassing.
His creations Boutonniere No.7, our green floral eau de parfum, was chosen as one of the top five fragrances launched in the United States during the Fragrance Foundation Awards in New York City in June 2013.
An art hotel, a gallery with concrete finish, industrial lights render the walls with hard shadows and recurring light pools. Hip crowd, artistic and edgy in demeanour, make their way past walls clad with the work of an upcoming artist, portraits after portraits depicting a post apocalyptic world. In juxtaposition to the serious works on display the DJ churns out distant ambient tunes and beats, the atmosphere is inviting, stimulating, minimalist....
rosemary, lavender, orange blossom, sandalwood, patchouli, artemisia, jasmine, rose, heliotrope, lily-of-the-valley and virginia cedar
The Helmut Lang lookbook features forms and shapes that are serious, structured, androgynous, edgy encompassing all too well the 'ahead of its time' vibe! And that pretty much sets the tone for this fragrance from the brand, it's a slick and a modern interpretation of the classic men's cologne first released in 2000 and now in 2014, where a careful balance of clean and dirty is evident. This scent is a modern day cologne for a man thats masculine, intentionally roughed up with a rugged sense of style, think perfectly fitted flannel shirts, washed out jeans, utilitarian boots, slicked back hair with a perfectly tamed and oiled beard. This scent is both abstract and relatable. EDP Helmut Lang starts off with a powdery opening thats strong and is derived from the white Florals and heliotrope. This is quickly backed up by the abstract spicy effect of lavender. The scent reveals its aromatic facets through spiky dry accords of rosemary.
This is the type of cologne thats subtle yet hard to ignore, with a smooth creamy finish, owing to the soft woods. I also get a slight green facet from the patchouli which adds to the overall freshness.
It feels esoteric in the sense that it is neither over indulgent nor less invested, and all the notes come together to form a slick crisp blend.
I imagine this to appeal to the 'art house' crowd so wear it when you wish to leave a trail of this at a New York art event in some cool hip spot...
